Mason jars are one of the most popular crafting trends around and I wanted to make something different using them. I came up with creating hydrangea flowers decorative tops using foams sheets heated on a regular household iron and manipulating the foam into awesome flower and leaf shapes.

1. Cut out 35-38 hydrangea petals from foam sheets 2. Using a green sharpie, feather the ink out from center of petal with a Q-tip. 3.Place petals on a medium hot iron plate until they curl. Pick up and hold shape together until cooled. 4. Super glue a bead to the center of each petal. 5.& 6. Cut a Styrofoam ball in half and iron a foam sheet until pliable to wrap over the half ball. Hot glue to edge of ball. 7 & 8. Using ziz-zag pattern scissors, cut out 10 leaf shapes. 9. Draw leaf veins onto the leaves using a hot knife or sharp knife blade. Place foam leaves on the iron plate for 30 seconds til curled. Remove and shape into leaf form. 10. & 11. Hot glue leaves around the edge of the mason jar. 12. Glue the foam covered half ball on top of the leaves. 13. Re-shape leaves on iron to look fuller. 14. Hot glue hydrangea petals to the ball starting at the bottom by the leaves. 15. Continue adding the petals around the ball until reaching the top.
Add your decorative top to your mason jar! Oh so pretty!
The possibilities are unlimited in making these decorative tops!
