Aw, thank you so much for your kind comments. Ya know I used to be where you are now. I just started with a basic pattern and changed a little here and there, til I could call it my own and now I just design my own from scratch.
I looooove looking at pictures and making the item from that....so much fun....don't give up!!
That great Glowie, only two weeks. I didn't learn to crochet in the round until I had mastered dishcloths and potholders...lol
So, for a hat, you start off with 6 sts, then the next round increase to 12, next 18, 24, 30, 36, etc, until your circle get to be about 7", then just sc around for that many until you get your length.
I can make the beanie part of a hat in about 2 hours, the other stuff is what takes so long, then I handstitch everything on. Total time over 3 hours....but I love it!!

wish i could figure how to make awesome stuff like that. all i can do is follow pre made patterns
Basically you start with a beanie hat and then add the flaps and crochet 5 big circles and handsew on.
I am making Petey Piranha scarf and hat now....and they are awesome!!

You need to have basic crochet skills to do a hat like this.
Was it easy to do? x
I love Toadette! <3
