The recipe I used was a bit hard to follow when it came to filling it but it tasted really good:D

I made this for my mardi gras themed party.

Ingredients:
Filling:
4 ounces (half of a large block) cream cheese
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup raisins, soaked in hot water for 15 minutes, drained, and patted dry on paper towels
1/2 cup pecan halves
.
Cake:
2 rolls (total of 12 individual crescent rolls) refrigerated crescent rolls in the can
.
Icing:
1-1/2 cups confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
3 to 4 Tablespoon (about) milk or cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Purple, green, and yellow colored sugar crystals or food coloring

You Will Need (6 things)

  • 2 Cresent Roll Cans
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Raisins And Pecan Halves
  • Brown Sugar
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese
  • Milk

Steps (6 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

Get all your ingrediants together. And greese whatever pan you want to use. I used a pizza pan since its flat and a circle.

Prep - you need to soak your raisens for 15 mins. And a little tip is don't let your cresent roll dough lay out before hand. I had a hard time laying out the pieces.

  2. 2

Blend together the powdered/ brown sugar, cream cheese, cinnamon, raisens, and pecan halves.

    You want them well blended.

  3. 3

I borrowed this from the site I used for a recipe.

Take the triangles of cresent dough and place them point facing the center. Then overlap the pieces onto each other till they look like the picture.

I had issues with this part. It doesn't work very well so when you put the filling on in a circle just fold the edges on the inside towards the out, then like wise for the outside, till you have a circle shaped pastry.

  4. 4

This is what you want it to look like.

  5. 5

Next bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 mins or till golden brown.

  6. 6

Next you make a simple icing using milk, powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Drizzle it onto the pastry so that its covered.

I used purple, green, and gold sprinkles and you want to use the colors to make wide stripes. I piled pecans in the middle since the icing made a little puddle there.
