Gather your supplies and prepare your work surface.

2
Start by taking your 2 cardboard piecse and fold them in half length wise
-
3
lay the ends of the cardboard pieces onto a piece of masking tape, making sure you have enough to go around
-
4
it should look like this
-
5
tape the other 2 ends in the same manner, forming a boat shape
-
6
tape popsicle sticks every few inches vertically inside the ring
-
7
break a few popsickle sticks in half and lay them on your masking tape
-
8
tape the broken pieces horizonally along both edges of the cardboard, forming a ring
-
9
cut 2 pieces of strong wire and tape them to the egdes of the cardboard ring, tape 2 pieces of wire on the inside of both edges as well, this will hold the shape of the circle
-
10
fold your vinyl in half and place the ring on top
-
11
cut a circle around the ring a little larger than itself
-
12
make slashes in the vinyl, fold pieces up one side and tape down with masking tape
-
13
Here I cut out leopard print wrapping paper and using my spray adhesive attatched it to the inside to hide the ugly tape
-
14
using asharp object, poke a hole in the drum, take heavy nylon string and add a key ring to it
-
15
triple knot that sucker on the inside, you wont be able to see it if you match it to the paper
-
16
finish the opposite side the same as you did for the first side, and then duck tape the ring solid
-
17
using spray adhesive, attach fabric to the ring, trim the excess of the edges
-
18
next using craft glue, tack on trim and set drum aside
-
19
this will be fo rthe drum sticks, cut out 2 circles
-
20
hand gather the edges, stuck with fill, glue in a dowel, triple knot and wala.
-
21
two drum sticks to match! after I finished the drum sticks, I added a piece of trim to each edge, covering any unsightly flaws and attached the lanyard.
