Description

When your kids want to make jewelry as a gift for a loved one, skip the pony beads and make this stunner that everyone will actually want to wear.

Instructions

  1. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183133 img 2013 600x400

Make a drying rack for your wet beads by poking holes in an old cardboard tube.

  2. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183155 img 2015 600x464

Stick one toothpick in one side of each wood bead.

  3. Put water in your bowl. It needs to be deep enough so that you can submerge the entire bead in the water.

  4. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183230 img 2019 600x485

Pour nail polish into the water. There is no rhyme or reason to this part. Just sort of pour and dot the colors in the water.

  5. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183255 img 2021 600x413

Swirl the polish around with a toothpick

  6. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183324 img 2022 600x470

Holding on to the toothpick, dip the bead into the water until it is totally submerged.

  7. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183346 img 2023 600x383

    Pull the bead straight out.

  8. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183414 img 2025 600x300

Stick another toothpick in the other opening in the bead. This will keep the hole from being closed over with paint.

  9. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183438 img 2026 600x481

Put the toothpick into one of the holes in your drying rack and leave it until dry.

  10. Repeat the dipping process with all the beads and let them dry.

  11. Remove the toothpicks from the beads and string them on length of elastic beading thread. You might want to use the needle to get the thread through the holes easily.

  12. Small 111015 2f2015 09 13 183634 img 2031 600x617

Knot off the thread and wear your new bracelet!
