You Will Need (9 things)
- Wooden Beads
- Nail Polish
- Water
- Plastic Bowl
- Toothpicks
- Paper Towel tube
- Elastic Beading Thread
- Scissors
- Needle
Steps (12 steps, 45 minutes)
-
1
Make a drying rack for your wet beads by poking holes in an old cardboard tube.
-
2
Stick one toothpick in one side of each wood bead.
-
3
Put water in your bowl. It needs to be deep enough so that you can submerge the entire bead in the water.
-
4
Pour nail polish into the water. There is no rhyme or reason to this part. Just sort of pour and dot the colors in the water.
-
5
Swirl the polish around with a toothpick
-
6
Holding on to the toothpick, dip the bead into the water until it is totally submerged.
-
7
Pull the bead straight out.
-
8
Stick another toothpick in the other opening in the bead. This will keep the hole from being closed over with paint.
-
9
Put the toothpick into one of the holes in your drying rack and leave it until dry.
-
10
Repeat the dipping process with all the beads and let them dry.
-
11
Remove the toothpicks from the beads and string them on length of elastic beading thread. You might want to use the needle to get the thread through the holes easily.
-
12
Knot off the thread and wear your new bracelet!
