You Will Need (10 things)

  • 110 g Sultanas
  • 110 g Currants
  • 40 g Butter
  • 145 ml Water
  • 175 g Self-Raising Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Bicarbonate Of Soda
  • Pinch Salt
  • 110 g Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tbsp Malt Extract

Steps (5 steps, 60 minutes)

    Heat oven 180 degrees.

    Place the fruit, butter & water in a pan.

    Bring to a boil.

    Simmer for 5 mins, set aside.

    Stir together the flour, salt & Bicarb.

    Stir in the sugar.

    Pour the fruit, egg & malt into the flour.

    Stir to combine.

    Pour into a tin.

    Bake for 35-45 mins until cooked through.

    Leave in the tin for 10 mins.

    Serve with butter.
