Makeup Brush Cleaner

eeps there's one thing that scares me about trying this - over time the alcohol would make the bristles of the brushes dry and brittle and likely to snap and shed - I buy good brushes.
The various makeup artists I've worked with (I'm a photographer) or spoken to, reccommend using washing up liquid or gentle shampoos (2in1 stuff is ever better cause it conditions the fibres if it's not synthetic) to clean your brushes just make sure you wash them out properly.

My usual cheat though is I use non-alcoholic based facial cleansing wipes by simple (no harsh chems and meant for sensitive skin) or simple baby-wipes which you can pick up a huge box of dirt cheap =)

I usually clean my brushees with just dish soap is that bad for my brushes? Also, can you not just rinse it? Do you necessarily have to keep wiping on a papertowel?

My mixture looks like some potion because I had green dish soap and my shampoo is pearly. It's neat though. I also have a question. Does this "go bad"? or can you keep it for a while?
