Many years ago i read in an dutch book of working with paper mache this recipy. And i thought i will make them someday. Sorry i don't remember the title of the book and neither the writer , if any one does , please tell me so i can give the real persone the credit;-D I followed the recipy but during the progress i have changed it. It worked to slow and i knew it could be quicker by using differend materials. i didn't like to make beautiful shaped beads, this would be much more fun it thought. Because some steps must be really drying well i have done the beads in two days and sheated by using a hair blower dryer and ... the oven.LOL but i think without the drying time you can do it in 3 hours . It's very easy and fun to do. I hope you like it and just have fun. (BTW my cat Wolfje was having her seccond birthday so she gots during the making of a lot of attention , that’s i think showing.LOL) thank you for stopping by, i hope to see you again;-XD

Making the paper beads: Gather all the suplies you will need together, you only need foam , toilet paper, and water, no glue!!!!!
Tear of paper pieces of the toilet paper. and lay them aside. Dip the toiletpaper in the water, now you must be quick. Turn the wet paper around the skewer , pinch and scrape the paper above the bowl i his shape on the skewer. i didn't wanted to have beautiful rond beads so i did want i wanted and didn't pay any attention fo making smooth and perfect round beads. Wolfje is trying to drink the water. LOL that's why i used a too small jar, it wasn't handy for this job. We both we're agree of that.LOL
When the beads is just in his shape and not too wet set it away for drying in the foam. Wolfje was isnpection them all.LOL
When you have a bunch of them and it don't dry quickly .... be smart ,just foulLOL Or... be patiencend.
Lay them on a oven shelf so that the beads are not touching each other and the shelve. bake them in a preheathed oven 40 degrees Celsius, or 104.0 degrees Farenheit in 26 minutes. but please be in the neigbhourhood because how long is dependable of how wet they are when you will set them in the oven. Let them cool down in side the oven, for 30 minutes or longer.
Make the paste flour. In the turtioal of the book they used acrylic paint for on the wall, but it was not fine it will cost longer time with many layers and drying tine to gave them a nice smooth look. so i thought why not paste flour. The only objection for using this , is that the beads will be weighting more. but one layer , is okay. recipy. 2teaspoons of plain floor 1teaspoon of wood glue 6 teaspoons of water. pinch of salt. (optional) do the floor in the tiny jar and then the woodglue and then the water. stirr it all together, You can add the pinch of salt to make the past a little bit durable. this paste floor must be thick but smooth, without lumps, set the paste for 15 minutes away in the fridge. Give the beads a layer with the the paste floor. you can use a finger or... use a brush.
an other trick that i found out when you using a hair drier the paste floor will dry smoother, the floor will raise inside.LOL just an other new trick.LOL
Pick of your pearl shell inkt a nice colour and make spots with a brush on the beads. Don't work neatly just work quickly that will given you the best result;-D And set them back in the foam to dry. The drying will be quickly.
Pick of your peral shell inkt an other nice colour and make more spots on your beads.chell. and set them back in the foam for an other dry.,
now more glamour to add. i used of a commen well known brand silver, old and copper and antique gold. (watch the picture)
Make spots of the silver , set the beads for drying back in the foam Make spots of Gold do the same with the copper and the antique gold, just one colour at the time. That will work quicker.
the last painting step!!! Add with acrylic plain pink paint some more spots .
Okay now the finishing tough!!!LOL use a varnish layer of pearl shell nail polish on the beads. You don't have to use the clear one at all. but just sart with the two colours. This will given the beads more a glamour all together look.!!!LOL Note the nailpolish of mine are just an ordinairy cheap dutch brand so i only showing you the colours)
this is how they turned out looking after the two nail polish layers.
the cutting of part: Pick up your sharp nife and make a nice allround cutting line till the skewer .
Because the paste floor layer is on the skewer top as well , we must set our bead free. Yust make cuts of the top till the cutting line you've made! Please watch the pict. that will make it more understandable;-D Now you only must repead step 14 by the beneath side of your bead to set him free. then try carefully to twist your bead, if it will, the bead is setting free, If not... then you must try to make a deeper cutting line in the beneath side of your bead or just watch if the above side is still connecting. it's just a knack you will learn quickly.!!!!
now slip off the bead of your skewers.
because you will have now a white paper cutting line on the both sides of your beads.....
give those white spots a colour of paint.... let it dry. and....
your done!!!!! yeaaaah,LOL ready to make of them beautiful pretty sheap jewelry or what ever you will do with them;-D hope you liked it, of course you can use other colours. (At the end i found them looking of choclat eggs with tinfoil on them sooo pretty)LOL Hope it 's all clear and understanable, if not please ask me your questions. just play with it and be a happy creative crafter;-D thank you for stopping by;-D
