Tired of the same old plain glasses and Tumblers? Stenciling the plain old glasses with glass paint is an easy tweak that will breath new life into the old, worn out ones.
Tired of the same old plain glasses and Tumblers? Stenciling the plain old glasses with glass paint is an easy tweak that will breath new life into the old, worn out ones.
Gather your supplies. Glass paint is available in most craft stores and so is the stencils. It is best to have craft stencils with self adhesive backing.Prepare the glass surface by washing it and drying well. It is not necessary but helpful to have stencils with self adhesive backing. If not, tape the stencil thoroughly so it wouldn't move once you start painting.
Brush the paint on to the stenciled part. Make sure you cover it well with paint. Remove the stencil soon but carefully. It is important to clean your stencil before the paint is dry and clean it well before using it the second time
Once all the glasses are painted, then it is time to bake them in the oven. Glass paint is speciality paint that needs to be baked ( mine was 30 minutes at 275F ) so the paint stays put in wash and dishwasher safe.
These painted glasses are dishwasher & microwave safe, but not food safe. So make sure not to paint insides of it if it is drinkware and anywhere the mouth might touch.
