Start with a package of white laundry rope, preferably cotton. Cut a 10-inch piece and lightly burn ends. Wrap the remainder of the rope from your thumb to your elbow as if you were wrapping an electrical cord. Tie off top of necklace where the ends meet with the piece of rope. Tuck ends under and glue.
Use Tulip One-Step dye. Squirt over the bottom of the necklace and allow to soak its way up. If the color is too strong, dip the necklace in water. Wrap necklace in plastic and allow to sit overnight. Rinse necklace and allow to dry.
