About

I searched everywhere to buy a bingo bag and couldn't find anything nice, so I made one.

I followed the patter at this website: http://freebingobag.com/
It was very well explained and easy to follow.

I had a hard time uploading pics, so....if your not sure about a step go to the website above for pics.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • String Or Rope
  • Bias Tape
  • Fabric One colour for the inside, another for the outside and a liner

Steps (12 steps, 210 minutes)

  1. 1

    Create a pattern:

    Part 1 (Inside):
    Measure 14" x 21". Cut.
Measure and draw 1/2" seam allowance on both sides.
Measure every 2" and draw a line in.
Measure 7 1/2" from the bottom and draw a horizontal line.
Draw 1/2" seam allowance on the bottom.

    Part 2 (outside):
    Measure 7 1/2" x 41". Cut.
Measure 1/2" seam allowance on both sides.
Draw lines every 4" to show line placement.

    Part 3 (Bottom):
Use a protractor or a bowl to get a 7" circle.

  2. 2

Cut out your pattern, remember to cut a liner if you will be putting one in.

  3. 3

Next you will need to draw lines on the outside fabric. Draw these every 4", use a ruler to do so and remember to start counting after the seam allowance. I use the pattern as a guide.

Do the same with the inside piece BUT make the lines every 2". Be careful not to draw above the dauber holder fabric.

  4. 4

The inside piece should look like this...

  5. 5

Now you can sew bias tape or fold and sew over 2 times at the top (of the outside piece).

  6. 6

Align the inside fabric to the lines you made on the outside bag fabric.
Sew in place vertically using a double stitch and reinforce at the top.

Close up the bottom by folding and keeping the fold inside the lines.
Sew into place with 1/2" seam allowance.

  7. 7

It should look like this at this...

  8. 8

Sew the seam of the bag together.

  9. 9

Pin and sew the bottom on and if you are putting a liner in sew it in.

  10. 10

Turn it "right side out" and now you can sew bias tape (border) or...

  11. 11

fold and sew over 2 times at the top.

  12. 12

Finish the bag like a drawstring bag. I used two strings and then tie knots at the ends.
Remember to make a button whole where the string comes out or else it will tear.
