My friend needed a pencil holder, and I was wanting to make this for a while already, so I said I'd make one for her, and this is it :) The figure of the girl is originally a stamp from Magnolia (they are so cute!) but I didn't have this stamp so I drew it :) (I'm sorry for the lack of images in the steps below, but it's really easy to make, if you do have questions, just ask!)

start with your cardboard box. I used a square of organza (optional) that I pushed into the box, then stapled it on the upper sides so it would stick in place. Cut of the excess organza.
Put glue all over the outside of the box (except the bottom!). Start somewhere in the middle and roll the yarn all around it, going up. (I started in the middle because it gives a neater effect). Then do the same, going down, until the whole box is covered.
Then draw the figure that you want. I used this one: http://www.magnoliaminiworld.com/store/images/ROSE.jpg You can also use a picture from a magazine,... anything you want :) Glue the picture onto the box and you're done! :)
