One of my terrific friends ingeniously suggested that I make a bookmark that could close and fold over the top of the page like a pair of butterfly wings. I loved that idea but decided to make one wing webbed and red and the other one swirly and blue (I was thinking of goodness vs. evil). I first made the shapes with wire and cut out paper to glue behind the wire. Then I used a watercolor brush to apply glue to the wire and attached the paper. I joined the wings by linking them via jump rings before cutting a fridge magnet into strips and gluing them to the back of the wings. It is now, by far, my favorite bookmark. :D
