Steps (7 steps, 60 minutes)
-
1
Find a link style belt at a thrift shop or yard sale.
-
2
Assemble supplies including some your choice of chain or sari silk ribbon, charms, metal colorants, etc.
-
3
Using pliers carefully deconstruct a link from the belt, save the connector for later.
Use sand paper or pad to sand away rough edges and clean surface.
Wipe with a damp cloth and allow to dry. -
4
Using a toothpick neatly apply metal colorant to recessed areas.
If you a get a little out side the area, you can gently sand it back once it is completely dry and cured [about 1 hour or per to manufacturers recommendation]
-
5
Snip the ring from the charm you plan to use, file smooth as needed.
Apply a small dot of E6000 adhesive and clamp until cured
-

*Quick Tip* I find the cap of the E6000 tube was always a sticky mess so I cut about a 3 inch tip from an old plastic paint brush and now use that as the plug for the tube.
Works great, very little waste and easy to clean. -

Once the link is completely dry, add chain link or sari silk and clasp to form the bracelet surround.
