You Will Need (10 things)

  • Polystyrene Cone
  • Wrapping Paper
  • 24 Macarons
  • 24 Gold Chocolate Malt Balls - I found these at the supermarket but you could always use Malteasers and spraypaint them gold with food colouring or edible glitter
  • Metallic silver and blue Food Colouring sprays
  • Black Edible Marker
  • 60 or more Toothpicks
  • 36 Ferrero Rocher
  • Black Card
  • Scissors

Steps (11 steps, 120 minutes)

  1. 1

Wrap your polystyrene cone in fancy wrapping paper. I chose a metallic copper but black, silver or gold would look great too.

  2. 2

Spray paint the first dozen of your macarons with metallic silver food coluring and then write the numbers of your clock from 1 - 12 around the outside with a black edible food marker.

  3. 3

Repeat with the second dozen, using a blue or gold metallic food colouring.

  4. 4

Start by baking two dozen macaron. Here are some of my recipes: https://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/by/catmorley?q=Macaroons

You can do any flavour you like, and fill them with any ganache or filling you like, but I recommend sticking to a plain coloured shell.

  5. 5

Cut out 24 mini clock hands from black card.

  6. 6

Pierce a hole through the middle of each macaron using a toothpick or skewer.

  7. 7

Slip a toothpick through the hole of a clock hand and then pierce into one of the malt balls.

  8. 8

Slip the other end of the toothpick through the macaron and piece into the polystyrene cone.

  9. 9

Pierce toothpicks into the bottom of the Ferrero Rocher and arrange a few around your macaron. This will help secure it in place.

  10. 10

Continue adding macarons and Ferrero Rocher to your cone, alternating between the two colours.

  11. 11

Keep going until you've filled the cone and then create a pretty topper for your tower. I made my one for New Years ever so I cut out the numbers for the year!
