With a few scraps of paper, some simple embellishments, and a package of M&Ms, you can make a clever (and yummy) bow tie card for Father's Day.
With a few scraps of paper, some simple embellishments, and a package of M&Ms, you can make a clever (and yummy) bow tie card for Father's Day.
Gather your supplies, and start by folding your 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock in half.
Fold a 2" x 6 inch strip of double sided patterned paper into a collar shape as seen in the photo. Adhere the collar to the top center of the card front so that the top of the collar is flush with the top of the card.
Add two lengths of washi tape vertically along the right and left sides of the card front, about a half inch from the edges. These are the "suspenders".
Add a 1.5 x 5.5 inch strip of patterned paper at the bottom for the belt. Layer a 1 x 5.5 inch strip of paper over that, adding thin 3/4 inch tall strips of paper vertically for belt loops.
Wrap a piece of washi tape around the center of the bag of M&Ms, moving the candies to either end of the bag so you can cinch the bag and make it look like a bow tie.
Place a large glue dot on the back of the piece of washi tape, and then press the bow tie firmly onto the center of the collar.
Finish off your bow tie card by placing some enamel dots, buttons, or brads down the center of the card front to make it look like a button-down shirt. Write your message inside the card, and share it with your man!
