Just went to Michaels today because I had a gift card. I got soap colorants, essential oils, and a mold! (As well as a pretty couture designed box to store everything in, which was on sale). I didn't use the colorants for this project, because the cinnamon creates the pink color. Yield: 3, 2oz bars. or 2, 3oz bars. makes 6oz.

Description

Just went to Michaels today because I had a gift card. I got soap colorants, essential oils, and a mold! (As well as a pretty couture designed box to store everything in, which was on sale). I didn't use the colorants for this project, because the cinnamon creates the pink color. Yield: 3, 2oz bars. or 2, 3oz bars. makes 6oz.

Instructions

  1. Small skdfngf

Take your soap bar and grate it (3/4 of a bar or about 3.5 oz of soap pieces). This works best when it has been sitting in water for a good amount of time. Put this into a good sized pot which has a little under 1/2 cup of water boiling in it.

  2. Small fsgf

Add the glycerin after the soap is a liquid/paste (it depends on the soap you use and how much water you put and the temperature of the water)

  3. Small dsgf

Take a smaller pan and add the cinnamon with 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil, then let steep off of heat for 10 minutes. ****This is a colorant. If you do not want the soap to be a pastel pink, you may omit this step all together.****

  4. Small kjb

While the cinnamon mixture is happening, take 1/8 cup of coconut oil and place into the soap/glycerin mixture. Lower heat to medium if you have not already done so.

  5. Small fgf

Add essential oil, and the cinnamon water (which has been strained to get rid of the powder/particles).

  6. Small sdjkgf

Pour into molds and enjoy! :D
