The supplies needed for this project are cheap, basic, and easy to find. I made these Haunted Houses with my elementary students. They LOVE making them. Even the older kids wanted to make the houses. It's a great project for kids but can be enjoyed at any age. It would make for a real fun, cheap, and easy family project. I adapted this project from an old School Art Magazine.

Instructions

  1. Fold a 6” by 9” piece of colored construction paper in half for your roof. DO NOT glue roof on till the very end.

  2. Using a sharpie add shingles to your roof. Use the sharpie to add bricks to your paper bag house.

  3. Using a variety of colored papers cut out spooky Halloween themed characters and details for your house. You can add details with colored markers to your cutouts and house if desired.

  4. Glue details in place. Glue sticks work best. You can decorate the sides and backs of house if you would like/if time permits.

  5. Open up paper bag house. Crumple a piece of newspaper and stuff house (do not over stuff). Staple bag closed, glue on your roof. A little glue at the seam works best. Enjoy, your spooky and colorful Halloween creation!
