I had a crochet hook with a broken end that stabbed me every time I tried to use it, I also had some sugru to test out and I decided to see if I could combine the two. Turns out I could and now I have a crochet hook that not only doesn't cause me injury it looks pretty too! You could use this tutorial on a non broken hook just to pretty it up.

Warm up the sugru in your hands.
Roll it into a sausage with two fat ends, do this by rolling with one finger in the middle of the sausage.
Fold the sausage in half to make your heart shape.
Smooth out the shape with your fingers.
If you like, add some glitter, just sprinkle on and press gently into the surface.
Stick the broken end of the crochet hook into the sugru. Or, if you're just doing it for decoration just push the non-hook end into the sugru.
I added a little start sequin to finish it off...
Leave to cure for 24 hours then hook to your hearts content with your lovely refurbished hook
