Little (Studded) Black Dress
Slash & stitch your way to a brand new dress

About
So I whipped up a DIY studded dress to wear out last weekend! It’s easy, especially if you have an LBD to start with. All you need is a pair of scissors, some studded trim—I bought mine in the garment district, but you can check online trimming supply stores or Etsy—and about 2-3 hours.

You Will Need (6 things)
- Little black Dress
- Studded Trim
- Studs
- Thread
- Sewing Needle
- Scissors
Steps (8 steps, 120 minutes)
-
1
Start with a little black dress that has sleeves (short or long).
-
2
Cut semi-circle shapes out of the shoulders.
-
3
You may want to put the dress on and mark the edges of the shape with pins...
-
4
...or wing it like I did.
-
5
Cut the sleeves off. Also a good idea to mark this with a pin in advance, and cut an inch longer so you can turn the edge up and top stitch to secure it.
-
6
Use a whip stitch or a straight stitch to attach the trim to the edge of the fabric. First, I turned the edge under and did a running stitch to secure it.

This can be done in about 5 minutes on the machine or 20 minutes by hand.

Add some lipstick! (optional ;D)
