First, I formed a small but thick ball.
On the first ball I've set a smaller ball as the head.
Now I formed a beard and pressed it to his head.
As I rolled the clay back and forth I formed a sort of small "sausage", which I've pressed as a mustache on his beard.
Now you have to shape the cap, which is a little bit difficult. It is important that it has a slight bend above.
Put a small ball as a bobble on top.
Makes a new "sausage" as a fur trim for the hat.
The same thing you are doing for the mantle on the ground.
Still 2 buttons for the coat to make.
If clay is left, you can form different things. For example, a gift or the sack of Santa Claus.
My clay dries on air, so I now must wait a day. But if it is dry, you can paint the figure. :) DONE!
