My husband got our daughter a lala costume from the store but it is so cold here that i just couldnt bring myself to let her go to school in something so flimsy so I decided to make her a better costume. I mostly used fabrics i had around the house. The dress is made from a curtain remnant from the 70's and the under skirt/crinolina is made from a red t-shirt and tulle. The shirt because I didnt want her to feel itchy. Tulle is very cool but scratchy. I sewed all layers together and then ran elastic thru the waist. Then i sewed on the jumper front and center with felt buttons my embroidery machine whipped out for me in a jiffy. (oh yeah, the zebra is also an embroidery design i made myself) The hair is a beenie made of felt that i cut two slits into and sewed in layers of felt strips for pig tails. The bows were laying around my sewing room waiting for a home. All in all it was pretty easy and looked great with a touch of face painting. Happy Halloween Y'all !!!
