Light Bulb Vase

Based on Light Bulb Vase by Marie-Christin E.

I have a beach theam going on in my living room and thought that the lightbulb vase could be adapted to this!! I used a paering(sp?) knife to get the small base off of the bulb, and then using a cloth to hold the bulb (very important step that one!!) I used the back of a soup spoon (in place of a tiny hammer, dont have one of those) and needle nose pliers to help get the pieces out. To break the glass on the inside I used something like a walnut pick? I'm not too sure of its actual name. So now that I've got this empty light bulb, its time to put colored water in it!! Regular food coloring is all I used, nothing fancy. And to go with my beachy theme, I ploped in some small shells!! I made a base for them using wire. I figured out what size would be good for the size bulb I had chosen, and then made a circle that size using 12 guage wire and then wrapped it a couple of times around with two colors of 20 guage wire. I'm deffinately thinking about making some different themed ones...I've got some good ideas for Halloween ones!!
