Description

Grab a pallet or some old wood and create your own pallet art.

Instructions

  1. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 061418 pallet%2bart %2bwood%2b

If using a pallet, break the pallet apart if you would like to change the dimensions of the final pallet. If just using old wood, decide how wide and tall you would like your pallet to be and cut your wood down. Glue the wood slats onto two wood supports on the back and then nail the boards to the supports as well. Sand the wood to remove any rough pieces.

  2. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 061819 pallet%2bart %2bvinyl%2bstencils

Using a cutting machine, (I used a Silhouette), create your design and cut them out using vinyl. You will be using the "negative area" of the vinyl as a stencil.

  3. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 061917 pallet%2bart %2bapplied%2bstencils

Apply the vinyl to the pallet to use as a stencil.

  4. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 062043 pallet%2bart %2bstenciling%2bwords

Using acrylic paint, paint the stencil.

  5. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 062140 pallet%2bart %2ball%2bstenciled

Peel away the vinyl to reveal the painted design.

  6. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 062237 pallet%2bart %2bbike%2bclose%2bup

Using more paint, add some highlight and low lights to the bicycle. And paint a basket full of flowers as well if you'd like!

  7. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 062333 pallet%2bart %2bsanded%2bbike

Optional: Sand the whole piece once again to give the paint a more aged, distressed look.

  8. Small 102856 2f2014 06 27 062434 pallet%2bart %2bcomplete

It is complete and time to display!
