You Will Need (5 things)
- Clay Extruder with small hole disk
- Polymer Clay
- Acrylic Roller
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Q Tips
Steps (8 steps, 60 minutes)
-
1
Before starting - unsure all your polymer clay tools and your hands are clean.
Start by conditioning your clay until it is soft and workable. -
2
Using a small hole disk, extrude your colours into long snakes. (fun!)
And roll another piece of clay to about 1mm thick to use as your base. -
3
(I'm using Navy Blue and White Premo clay today )
-
4
One colour at a time, start laying your clay snakes onto your base clay. Ensure you keep the snakes straight
-
5
Its a good idea to let the colours overhang the base clay slightly. You can trim these down later.
-
6
Using your acrylic roller, roll length ways along the stripes. Do this slowly and with gradual pressure. This will flatten the stripes and bond them to the base clay.
-
7
You can now trim the edges and your clay is ready to use!
**Hot tip - if you find you have lint, fluff or slight colour transfer on your polymer clay, you can use a tiny bit of rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol with a Q-tip to remove it.
