So my sister's toenails would look pretty while she was in agony having her first baby, I painted them thus…apparently lots of the nurses commented on them!

Paint a clear base coat.
Paint a bright pink coat. Use a nail corrector pen or cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover to tidy up around the nails.
Allow to dry really well! Using a pen on not-well-dried nails means it's more likely to dig in and make a mess of your background colour.
Use a yellow nail art pen to draw circles, some full and some partway off the nail. You can also use a brush or toothpick and yellow nail polish.
Fill in the lemon segments with the nail art pen. (Use a toothpick to clear up any bleeding into adjacent segments.)
Paint the ends of nails with clear varnish (best to do this one or two nails at a time).
Take a small square-ended brush and load on lots of yellow Fairy Dust or any gold glitter.
Finish with clear top coat for shine and protection. Should last a couple of weeks!
