If you haven't noticed yet, leather has been my latest obsession and I just can't stop making things with it. This case is not only good for reading glasses, but is perfect for sunglasses too. And it makes an easy-to-make gift for your friends and family.
If you haven't noticed yet, leather has been my latest obsession and I just can't stop making things with it. This case is not only good for reading glasses, but is perfect for sunglasses too. And it makes an easy-to-make gift for your friends and family.
Start by determining the size you will need and cut out two rectangular pieces. Leave about 1/4" for seam allowance and 1" seam allowance along the opening. You will need one or two of those cable ties depending on how long they are. Cut two pieces so that they are as wide as your case will be subtracting the 1/4" seam allowance.
Place the plastic strip as shown in a photo below and figure out how far you will need to stitch from the top to make sure the plastic strip will slide in comfortably. Take out the plastic strip and make that stitch.
Once you finish the openings on both pieces insert the plastic strips.
Place the two pieces together right side in and sew along the other three edges. Turn the complete case right side out and you are done! Here it is closed.
Here it is open. To open it you simply need to squeeze the two corners together.
