I decided to take a step away from the usual red and green colour scheme of Christmas and try some different hues, as well as finding a use for some old leather scraps I had. These tags are a great way to jazz up some plain wrapped gifts, while keeping a rustic and minimalist look.

Draw the shape of the gift tag onto the back of your leather and cut it out using the cutting knife. (Mine was 9cm x 5cm with the top corners cut off).
Punch a hole in the top of your tag using the leather hole punch.
Cut out your decoration from a contrasting colour of leather.
Tip: if using a pattern, use masking tape to attach the pattern to the leather to avoid piercing the leather with a pin.
Add some glue to the back of each decoration and stick it onto the tag.
Thread some cording through the hole of the tag and knot it.
Attach the tags to your gifts.
