My boyfriends nieces (who I consider my own) are getting ready to go into preschool and kindergarten. I help take care of them a lot and decided to start working with them on basic skills. I've drawn and colored a picture that corresponds with every letter of the alphabet and use them as flash cards. Materials: -sheets of white 8"x11" printer paper. -Sharpie fine tip marker. -colored pencils. -scissors. Instructions: -With scissors, cut sheets of paper into 4 even parts. (To make the full alphabet, you'll need 6 and a half sheets.) -In the bottom left hand corner, largely print with a Sharpie a capital letter A to Z. Next to the letter print in capitals the name of a picture corresponding to the letter. (For A I used apple, B butterfly, C cat etc etc.) -Draw a picture on each card and color it brightly with colored pencils. The girls love all the colorful pictures and they are really learning from them! Next project will be numbers!
