i just got my first sewing machine...for my 27th birthday, lol! i've been really excited about the option of getting into the world of refashioning, so i headed straight to our local thrift store where i managed to snag the t-shirt and blouse i got the applique off for 50 cents each. the tee was way too big, so i used one of my favorite tanks as a pattern and took it in a bit. i used a seam ripper to gently remove the applique from the blouse, then pinned the leaves where i wanted them on the shirt and ran them through my sewing machine. the whole project took about an hour, which included the time it took me to figure out thread my new machine :) it's definitely not the most complex (or perfect) thing i could have made, but i'm super proud of it, for a first attempt at refashioning!
