Description

Instructions

  1. Small 2014 04 10 005303 lamp no shade

Remove the lamp shade, bulb, and lamp shade hardware.

  2. Small 2014 04 10 005312 lamps tape

Prep the lamp by wiping it down with a damp paper towel and a light sanding. Attach painter's tape on the bottom and around the cord.

  3. Small 2014 04 10 005319 lamps gold base

Lay the lamp on the side and spray paint the bottom edge gold with a few light coats. If you get too close, the paint will crinkle/bubble. If this happens, wipe it off or let it dry and sand off, and paint again.

  4. This is important! Wait about a week for the paint to cure, then tape off the gold edge at the bottom and socket hardware at the top and spray paint a glossy white. Make sure you do a few light coats again. (So sorry I didn't take pictures of these steps, I thought I had...)

  5. Small 2014 04 10 005326 lamp shade measure ribbon

Add trim the lamp shade by measuring ribbon around the circumference of the shade.

  6. Small 2014 04 10 005338 lamp shade glue start ribbon

Start at the back seam of the lamp shade and add a little hot glue to attach the ribbon.

  7. Small 2014 04 10 005347 lamp shade glue dot

Continue around the lamp shade with the ribbon, adding a little glue dot about every 6 inches.

  8. Small 2014 04 10 005355 lamp shades done

Add as many "bands" as you like. I put two at the bottom and one at the top.
