I needed a lamp for my bedside table so I went to the thrift store to see if I could find anything funky. I didn't really find anything too interesting, but I did end up with a very simple lamp from Ikea and headscarf. I really like how it turned out! PLUS the scarf dims the light (and there isn't enough heat to harm the scarf). When the decor of my room changes, I can simply change the scarf ;) ENJOY!

find a lamp. This is the one I found at a thrift store. I suppose any sort of regular lamp shade could work as well.
choose a scarf. Any old scarf, made with a lightweight fabric, will do. Even some scrap material you have around!
Tie the scarf around the lamp. I had to adjust the scarf to fit around the corners of the lamp...
Plug it in! :D
