A small, cute little hair clip :)
A small, cute little hair clip :)
The body - I started by crocheting a magic circle of about 4 single crochets
I then continued, with 1 single crochet on each previous single crochet (1 full row)
Following this I made 2 single crochets in each single crochet around.
I then created a single crochet in each single crochet around (1 full row). As the wool was quite thick and fluffy, this was sufficient for the main body shape.
Wings - to creat the wings, I created the following pattern twice... I started by chain stitching 4, then single crocheting 3 rows on the base of that.
Following this I crocheted 2 single crochets together on the row and then crocheted together the next 2 single corchets (ending up with 2 sngle crochet overall on the next row)
I then made a normal row, followed by crocheting the two final single crochets together. This created a triangle shape.
I added all the parts together and sewed them into place. I used elastic with beads threaded on for the antennas and knotted them on the underside of the ladybird to keep them in place.
Finally, I sewed on beads for the ladybird spots, and for the eyes. To make it into a clip, I simply attached a clip on the underside of the ladybird (picture shows ladybird prior to clip attatchment)
