Lacy Grey Crocheted Cowl

Despite the lacy look of the cowl, it’s quite simple to make – all single, double, and triple crochet stitches.

Our mom taught Tomiko and me to crochet way back when we were kids. I was just seven or so and I wanted to crochet a blanket for one of my dolls. I was just trying to make a rectangle in single crochet stitches, but I was having issues – what I made instead was a triangle! I’ve come a long way since I first learned to crochet about twenty years ago. I never appreciated how difficult it is to make a crochet pattern from scratch.

This was crocheted using soft dove grey alpaca yarn that Donatello brought back from Colombia. Despite the lacy look of the cowl, it’s quite simple to make – all single, double, and triple crochet stitches.
