My friend Keava treated me to this gorgeous lace when we were at Hobbycraft so to say thanks, and congratulate her and her girlfriend on their engagement, I decided to make them both necklaces with slightly different styles to match their looks.
My friend Keava treated me to this gorgeous lace when we were at Hobbycraft so to say thanks, and congratulate her and her girlfriend on their engagement, I decided to make them both necklaces with slightly different styles to match their looks.
Cut a long square of thick lace.
Cut the square in half so you have two equal pieces.
With the two pieces on top of each other, cut a cute collar shape out of the lace, tapering to a thinner point at top.
Try the lace collars on to work out which height they look best at a cut a length of necklace chain to match.
Attach a clasp to the back.
Cut a short length of chain for the front of the collar.
Loop the chain between the two collar pieces and connect together with jewelry pliers.
Select a clear cameo which suits your necklace.
Delve into your pressed flower collection, if you have one, or press some pretty flowers.
Find a design that looks pretty in your cameo.
Cut some double sided sticky plastic to the size of your cameo.
Peel off the backing and stick onto a piece of fabric. I used black leather.
Cut the cameo to size and attach to your necklace with a jump ring.
Your gorgeous new necklace is now ready to wear.
