I used some nylon thread and clear plastic beads in different sizes and shapes to decorate a plain white lampshade. I first strung the beads onto the nylon thread using the larger bead at the bottom of each strand and making sure all my strands were of equal length and just a bit longer than the height of my lampshade, so they would stick out a little at the bottom. I then hung the strings onto the "spokes" of my lampshade at regular intervals and that was it! You can probably hand more strands and make them longer, shorter, different lengths, use coloured beads whathever takes your fancy!
