About

Such an easy necklace project that can be finished in about 15 minutes! The simple, subtle result looks great layered with other necklaces or alone for a pared down summer look.

**Please note that although I chose to use a leather cord, you can make this with whatever you material choose. This necklace looks just a great when made with chunky yarn or scrap fabric.

You Will Need (6 things)

  • Crimp Beads
  • Lobster Clasp
  • Jump Rings
  • Fabric
  • Chunky Yarn
  • Leather Cord

Steps (7 steps, 15 minutes)

  1. 1

Tie a knot 6" away from the right side.

  2. 2

Open one of the jump rings, place the lobster claw on it then close it again.

  3. 3

On the side closest to the knot, insert 1" of the strand through the closed jump ring, then run a 1/2" bead of glue just beneath the jump ring.

  4. 4

Squeeze tight with pliers to make sure the glue made a secure connection.

  5. 5

Tighten a crimping bead over the overlapped pieces, just beneath the jump ring.

  6. 6

Use scissors to trim excess strap from beneath the crimping bead.

Repeat steps 3 through 5 on the other side of the cord, with the left over hardware.

  7. 7

Repeat steps 3 through 6 with the remaining jump ring on the other side of the strand.
