this is gorgeous...i'm working one up right now in some chunky fuchsia wool, though i got some lovely bargain mohair the other day. i think i'll increase the number of stiches a little and make another in that, on a day when i'm feeling particularly patient
I had to skip the first yo. The sl 1 and the 2nd yo, then passing the slip on to the original needle make the turns a bit cleaner, for me at least. Once you get it down, it's quick and easy. I would also suggest making the button hole a bit bigger, but again, it might just be me that likes big chunky buttons. Overall, I am so happy with it, it lives on my dress form so it's always on display. Well at least until winter, then it'll be around my neck .
So Alyssa J. you skipped the "yo, slip 1 stitch, yo, slip the slipped stitch back to the original needle" part? because i cannot figure out how youre supposed to to that
grrr I just can't do iiiit! I'm getting annoyed with it and it just ends up being more wrong. It doesn't go neat it doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern in the knitting and everytime i put the slipped stitch back on the other needle the stitches go all crissed crossed and all tight!
ok I've tried to do this and I just end up with a big tangle! Where it says to turn work around and Knit 2 so that all stitches are back on one needle.' I end up with more stitches then I'm supposed to.
If anyone is going to try this, I suggest ignoring the yo and slip stitch parts. Just knit and turn. I hope that helps, queenfairypants.
Aside from that problem, this pattern is nice and the ruff is quite cool. I can't wait until the late fall when I can wear it!
