Materials 3.25mm needles Small amounts of DK yarn in three colours. I've used pink as an example. Yarn A = Dark pink Yarn B = Light pink Yarn C = White
Using A, cast on 5 stitches. Row 1. Purl Row 2. Knit 1. (Make 1, Knit 1) to last stitch. Knit 1. [8 stitches] Row 3. Purl Row 4. Knit 1. (Make 1, Knit 1) to last stitch. Knit 1. [14 stitches] Row 5. Purl Row 6. Knit 1. (Make 1, Knit 1) to last stitch. Knit 1. [26 stitches] Row 7. P Row 8. Knit 1. (Make 1, Knit 2) to last stitch. Knit 1. [38 stitches] Row 9. Purl Row 10. Knit, alternating 3 stitches yarn B with 3 stitches yarn C Row 11. Purl, alternating 3 stitches yarn B with 3 stitches yarn C, keeping pattern correct Row 12. Knit, alternating 3 stitches yarn B with 3 stitches yarn C Row 13. Purl, alternating 3 stitches yarn A with 3 stitches yarn B, keeping pattern correct (A should be above the square of B in the previous rows) Row 14. Knit, alternating 3 stitches yarn A with 3 stitches yarn B Row 15. Purl, alternating 3 stitches yarn A with 3 stitches yarn B Row 16 to 18. Repeat Rows 10 - 12 Row 19. Change to A. Purl Row 20. Knit 1 (Knit 2 together) to last stitch. Knit 1 [20 stitches] Row 21. Purl Row 22. Knit 1 (Knit 2 together) to last stitch. Knit 1 [11 stitches] Row 23 Purl Row 24. Knit 1 (Knit 2 together) to last stitch. [6 stitches] Cut off yarn, thread through remaining stitches and pull tight. Use this end to sew together, either over a polystyrene egg (I used a 6cm egg) or stuff with fibrefill. Attach a ribbon in a coordinating colour.
