I wanted to make a pair of fingerless mittens, but i couldn't find the perfect pattern i like. So i made my own pattern! I like these fingerless mittens beacause they don't take too long to make and they look so nice! ^-^

To start, cast on 56 sts and form onto 4 needles.
Then knit 1 row. Don't cut off that little yarn piece until you finish knitting! It shows you the beginning of a new row.
Then rib stitch 10 more rows. You can take different color yarn for these parts.
Now you can choose what you like better - a pattern of your choice or plain knitting. If you take another color yarn now, simply tie new yarn to another.
Then knit 24 rows and stop.
After 24 rows,on the 25th row knit first two needles (where im pointing in the picture). As it is hard for me to explain the thumb thingy in English i found this tutorial for you. http://akittenknits.blogspot.com/2006/12/thumb-trick.html I do it really similar to this. :) Also, i took 8 stitches for the thumb.
Then knit 18 more rows.
And then knit 6 rows in rib stitch again (you may want to change yarn color if you did before). And then finish off.
For the thumb, knit 4 rows, and then knit in rib stitch 6 more rows and finish off.
When you're done, turn your mitten inside out and hide all of the yarn strands showing. Turn outside in and wear!
