A cute knit pouch to carry small knick knacks etc

About

This little pouch is great for coins and shells and pebbles and all sorts of small finds that are fun to carry around!

I used size 5 flat knitting needles and Lion Brand's Vanna's Choice yarn.

It is 3.5 inches wide and 4 inches tall (once folded over).

Note: this is a three color pattern. You can choose whichever colors you'd like, but for my pattern the dark green is color A, the light green is color B, and the dark purple is color C.

You Will Need (3 things)

  • Knitting Needles
  • Yarn
  • Tapestry Needle

Steps (6 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

-Using color A, CO 16 sts using long-tail cast on method.
-Work each row in a (YO, K) lace pattern until 4 inches long.

  2. 2

-Using color B and working in the same lace pattern, work 4 more inches and cast off.

  3. 3

-Using color C, sew up the sides with a tapestry needle using blanket stitch. (if you don't know how to blanket stitch, there is a nice tutorial on CO+K here: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/how_to_blanket_stitch)
-Make sure all the corners match up. This lace pattern makes a very funky-shaped piece and this will make it a bit difficult to sew up.

  4. 4

-Using color C, I finger crocheted the drawstring... but a braid or even a few pieces of yarn will also be fine.
-Choose the length that is right for you!

  5. 5

-With a tapestry needle or just your fingers, weave the drawstring through the already-made holes at the opening.

  6. 6

-Find some funky knick knacks and pull drawstring tight to close!
