This pattern, since it uses such small needles, creates a very tightly-knit and solid coaster. If for some reason you prefer a bigger and more flexible coaster, you can use bigger needles (and thicker yarn). I used size 1 needles and Vanna’s Choice (Lion Brand yarn). It’s a pretty simple pattern; you just have to battle using the size 1 needles, which took me a bit to get used to. Oh and please don’t sell these or my pattern pleaseee.

Cast on 21 stitches Rows 1-3: K Row 4: K3, P3, K3, P3, K3, P3, K3 Row 5: K6, P3, K3, P3, K6 Row 6: K3, P3, K3, P3, K3, P3, K3 Repeat Rows 4-6 nine more times (and make sure you remember that it is a three-row repeat. So there will be a time where a specific row is repeated twice. This creates the “basket” or “checkers” image.) Rows 34-36: K
Bind off and weave in extra yarn.
And there you have it- a knitted, reversible, coaster!
