The tuxedo part of the "Kitty Bow Tie Collar" project. I decided my cat needed a formal outfit. If you have any questions about the directions(understandably so, I'm horrid when it comes to explaining things :D hehehe...ugg) *Note: When I make a note it's sort-of a good idea to read it and when I use caps, I'm not yelling, I'M POINTING OUT THE PART THAT YOU CAN SKIP TO if there's a lot of babble OR I could just be HAPPY or I could have just drank a cuppa TEA* Suggestion:Make a cuppa tea(or you're favorite dwink), steal the most comfy chair in your house and stuff it in a quiet part of your house(I suggest a room with a door) and get a table to hold stuff, your favorite non-melty snack(unless said room has fridge with freezer and easy bathroom access)your materials(double-check your stuff it's not cool when your on a roll and you realize you completely forgot something, trust me not fun) and your pet(you will need it for A:company n B: measuring and testing out)OH!!! and an I pod dock, CD player, or radio.

Sorry I didn't take any before & during photos >.<!!!! First: Measure around your cats neck and add a little bit(if you're not going to use the bow tie collar then do it to the neck) *Don't forget to keep a sheet a paper with ALL measurements and if your cat(or dog) seems to be bigger or smaller re-measure*
Then: measure from shoulder blade to shoulder blade BUT NOT UNDER THE CAT(or dog)!!(most of the time if the animal grows a bit weight wise the outfit won't fit comfortably anymore so if it doesn't have an underside then it will fit longer)and measure from the base of the neck to the middle of the back. This will sound weird but just go with it... put one end of the measuring tape to where one of the shoulder blades is and curve it(made a BIG curve) to the middle of the back. Not sure how to put that down the way I did all this was harder in a way, but I put the fabric on one of my cats(the bigger one), put some marks and eyeballed it :D if you can do that GO FOR IT!!! if not, umm just go with the writing stuff down angle... :D
NOW, fun part...he he...whew ok Now: Cutting the fabric :D LET'S DO THIS!!!! Who's not exited?!?! Good! Everyone's exited!! Now don't let that happiness get to your head, cuz then we'll have the problem of you dancing all happy to Tokio Hotel or something and cutting at the same time and you cut yourself or you cut the fabric wrong, so umm get less happy??
* Actual cutting step, sorry tend to go off on a tangent and babble...and there I go again >.<!!!) This step is actually really simple!!! Jut mark on the fabric how far to go, I suggest folding it in half(if your using scrape fabric like I did, just make it so you have enough fabric on either side so that the entire piece is even and straight, unless you're not going for that and in that case follow the steps that apply and don't get upset at me if it's not what you wanted, but do ask if you fell like it for any help)ok where was I??? OH right folding!!! Do all that up there and make a kind of dotted line(P.S. if you make any marking on the fabric do it all on one side of the fabric so that that will be the inside) and stuff and cut near the spots, but not cut too close this is a point(after you do the whole cut near the spots thing) that you can hold it up to the pet and safety pin the front and watch your pet walk around in it and make notes on what you might need to change.
Now, if you're still with me after that roller-coaster, leave about half-an-inch from the dotted line and the edge around the whole thing and the neck section. Pretty simple, right?
There is a reason I asked you to leave a lip(the half-inch edge) there. This is the point that the pins will come in handy. Fold the edge HALFWAY over the line you made and pin it all the way around the outer edge and the neck section.
If you can sew by hand then just do a simple blanket-stitch anywhere there's a pin. *Note: I'm not calling anyone stupid, I'm just saying this because I did it myself because I can be an airhead when on a roll, REMOVE THE PIN BEFORE YOU SEW THAT SECTION...I've done it and it was a bit difficult and annoying to get out*
Umm now we're getting into stuff I actually haven't finished yet, the painting part. On mine I have to paint the black jacket because my fabric was white. *Note: For the painting part PLEASE USE FABRIC PAINT. It will stick to the fabric if you have to wash it for any reason.* Pencil will wash off of fabric, so draw in the jacket or if you were lucky enough to get the color of the jacket in your fabric you can draw in where the shirt under the jacket is going to be. *Note: If you are using my other project or your own pet bow tie then DO NOT draw it in. BUT if you ARE NOT using a separate bow tie then DO draw it in.*
Now time for decorations!! XD If you'd like to add a flower pin or painted(if your pet is like mine and it plays with everything even if it's 2D then I'd suggest painting in on) -or- If you want a more "feminine" affect you can add a LITTLE glitter. Don't overdo it because if your pet ingests it I'm pretty sure its not gonna be a good thing, not necessarily deadly(depending on the ingredients, check the label)
