I sewed the kitty ears to a wizard hat that I had previously made. This was for a Macha (.hack//SIGN) costume that I wore at an anime convention in Dallas. The dollar store wire I used was pretty flimsey; it didn't work very well at all. Next time, I'll use something that's holds it's form a little better. For the ears themselves, I just cut my shapes out from the inexpensive felt squares you find at Wal-mart or your local fabric store. Then I used just a little bit of stuffing from an old teddy bear.
