I missed my favorite sale of the year and I was all pissy about it. Then I found I had a length of white fabric at the bottom of my fabric stash from the sale the year before. I've been wanting a kimono that fits me for ages. I have no idea why I didn't make one before now. It's a lovely white fabric with 2 inch leaves on branches everywhere. It's fairly stiff and reminds me of formal outer kimono. It was easy to make. The Obi was going to be a dusky green but I remember that fabric is to be used for another costume. But I did have fabric left over from my giant floor pillows in my living room. I think it came out better anyways! I came up with a very cool way to cheat with the obi. There are 2 layers of very stiff interfacing and boning in there, oh and cording too. I hope to improve the false collars though. In the future I hope to dye the edges of the kimono and make different obis for each season.
