http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamishibai I made two kamishibai's, one for A4 format and one for A3 format. I really enjoyed making them! The bigger one I made for a friend of mine who's a kindergarten teacher, so she can use it in her class.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamishibai I made two kamishibai's, one for A4 format and one for A3 format. I really enjoyed making them! The bigger one I made for a friend of mine who's a kindergarten teacher, so she can use it in her class.
First measure everything and decide which format you want to make. Make al lot of trash ;) See that you have all your stuff around you...
Mark where you need to saw, to make a frame out of your piece of wood. I used a circular saw (see the squares). For the decoration on top you can choose any form you like... I used plates to mark the lines.
Do the same as in step two exept for the decoration on top. This will be the back of the kamishibai.
Bigger picture of the square. Use a big nail to hammer a hole in the middle :)
Use the circular saw to make holes, put the saw in the hole you made in step 4. Do this in your front and back side! (8 holes in total)
Use a jigsaw to saw from hole to hole on the line you draw in step 2. Use a jigsaw to saw the decoration out in the front!
That's done :)
Use a jigsaw to cut out the sides of the kamishibai. Than go over everything with SANDPAPER so every corner and side feels smooth !!
Paint every piece of wood in a primer paint.
Glue everything together at first, with wood glue.
Hammer everything togheter with small nails. Your foundation is set !!
Give it the colour you want :) It may needs more than one layer!
Example of the handle I used. Measure it and draw on you kamishibai where you want it. Bore two holes where you want the handle to come.
Done, that will make it more convenient to carry it with you :)
Finishing touch :) Use gold paint or any contrasting colour you want. Use your fantasy!
Use tiny hinges to connect the sides to the the rest! So you can put them back to store the kamishibai.
READY :)
