I was flicking through Juicy Couture's online catalogue, and I was irked to discover a pair of shoes listed for 170 dollars. I was like "I could TOTALLY make those" and so I (ish) did. I didn't have grey shoes, however, so I used a teal, and mixed a color to compliment the teal better than yellow would have.

Remove all embellishment that your flats might have before work.
Cover your shoes in tape to create the "stripes" it helps to start from the back, at an angle, and then work forward, slowly straightening your tape lines, until at the toe, they're totally straight.
Paint them with whatever color you chose.
Peel off tape before the paint dries. This way, if there were gaps and your stripes bled into each other, you can wipe it off. Also, it helps prevent the cracking of the paint.
Wait for the paint to dry completely, then paint on a layer of the Modge Podge. Wait for this to dry as well.
Glue on your silk flowers. Viola! Done.
