This is quite an effective method and makes a chunkier scarf than most of the t-shirt recycle projects out there

You Will Need (4 things)

  • 1 m plain Jersey
  • Fabric Dye
  • Scissors
  • Iron

Steps (5 steps, 120 minutes)

  1. 1

Take 1 meter of plain white or cream jersey material and tie-dye however you like. For this I used Dylon hand dyes: Intense Violet and Velvet Black (although the black came out looking a bit blue)

  2. 2

Iron material and fold in half length ways

  3. 3

Make lots of cuts along open edge of material all the way along (see pic!)

  4. 4

Give each tassel a tug along it's length to get the material to curl up, then tie a knot at it's base.

  5. 5

    Look gorgeous!
