Description

Instructions

  1. Small image

    Gather materials

  2. Cut card stock into strips of about 2 by 9 inches.

  3. Small image

Cut little notches into card stock strips, stoping about 1/2 centimeter from the edge.

  4. Small image

Fold the little notchy things outward

  5. Small image

Get a piece of tape ( if you're using glue skip this step)

  6. Small image

Adhere one end of the strip about halfway up the chopstick or pencil with the notchy things downwards

  7. Small image

Wrap strip around chopstick, going upwards

  8. Small image

When finished wrapping, get a small piece of tape and repeat steps 5-7 with the other strips putting them above each other. I suggest cutting the tips of the little notchy things for the piece that goes at the top, so it looks more natural.

  9. Small image

When you're done wrapping it should look like this.

  10. Small image

Now for the base, place a small handful of pebbles on a square of felt.

  11. You need both hands for this step. Place the bottom end of your tree in the center of the felt, then grap the corners of the felt together with the tree. With your now free hand, grab a piece of string and tie it around the corners (and tuck in any flaps) , then tie it in a bow.

  12. Small image

Your tree should now look like this. For the topper, you can use anything you find around the house. I used a cover from a set of lights that I think I got from Walgreens.

  13. You're finished! Thanks for looking at my first tutorial!!!!!
